Workforce Gender Equality Employer Statement

ElectraNet is committed to enabling a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone has equal access to opportunities across the business. This commitment is realised through ongoing assessment of policies, processes and practices that shape our employee experience, remuneration and benefits.

The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) recently published employer gender pay gaps for all private sector organisations with more than 100 employees. Gender pay gaps are an important measure of progress on achieving gender equality. The gender pay gap is the difference between the average earnings for men and the average earnings for women across all positions in an organisation, industry or workforce as a whole. This is not the same as equal pay, which compares the earnings for men and women across a single position, grade or job family and is less likely skewed by outlier salaries of either gender. ElectraNet’s WGEA reported gender pay gap is 21.3% compared to the industry group median of 18.9%. This is in part attributable to higher levels of female participation in low grade positions, and gender typical job families such as Administration. ElectraNet continues to work at strategies to increase female representation across all levels of the organisation, to support greater diversity across its workforce in the future.
