The Team

The Asset Lifecycle and Planning team is part of the Assets division at ElectraNet. This team plays a crucial role in providing reliable electricity transmission services to our customers by optimising asset reliability and operational performance throughout the asset lifecycle. 

 

 

To achieve this, the team undertakes a comprehensive approach that considers factors like safety, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance throughout the asset's life cycle.

The Opportunity

Based full time in Adelaide, South Australia this opportunity is open to all mid-career and senior level engineers.

 

As a mid-level career Engineers, you will:

 

  1. Provide expertise and guidance in the development of:
    • Asset Class Strategies.
    • Asset Design Manuals.
    • Maintenance Strategies.
    • Functional Requirements.
  2. Review capability and authority for:
    • Deviation from existing standards.
    • Adoption of new practices related to detailed design, plant selection, and acceptance.
  3. Manage existing and emerging risks associated with:
    • Construction and commissioning.
    • Installation, testing, and operation.
  4. Support the Asset Investment function by:
    • Developing project scope documentation.
    • Assisting the delivery team from planning through to handover as the owner customer.

 

 

For senior-level career Engineers, additional responsibilities will include:

 

  1. Providing technical leadership for substation services and infrastructure.
  2. Ensure compliance with ElectraNet’s:
    • Regulatory performance obligations.
    • Network operation requirements.
  3. Serve as Principal Engineer by:
    • Providing oversight and leadership to the Technical Authority across the business.
    • Applying deep technical expertise within their specialist area.

About You

What we are hoping to see and hear from you are your success stories and achievements in playing an integral part in extending the total lifecycle of assets across your career as an Engineer.

 

 

We’d love to discuss your strong understanding and invaluable experience in well-executed Asset Lifecycle Planning and Management strategies and execution plans and see some of the policies and standards that you’ve led or helped develop, project scoping, specification development, managing design reviews, onsite inspection, and safety in design processes.

 

 

Share your learnings with us! Tell us about some of the theoretical and practical approaches you have taken to solve unique problems and how you have used knowledge of substation and transmission system components, performance, and operation or even leveraged the technical expertise of others you’ve worked with.

 

 

Talk to us how you stay abreast with legislated industry requirements (National Electricity Rules, SA Electricity Transmission Code, ESCOSA, OTR, AEMO Guidelines, etc.) and if you have had some experience within industry through participation in workshops, conferences, technical forums and other forms of professional development.

 

 

Some other areas which are critical to your success for this role include:

 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.
  • Experience in the energy industry (i.e. transmission, distribution or generation).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an affinity in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to work with a high level of autonomy, adapting to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of commercial and contracting requirements and experience in reliability engineering (statistical analysis) would be highly desirable.
