The Opportunity
With exciting projects on the horizon, we are looking for an Associate/ Project Estimator for a fixed term of 12 months. Our team of estimators play a pivotal role by providing technical direction of the cost estimating process in support of ElectraNet’s capital works program. As part of the team, you will help with the development of tender documentation, analyse pricing responses and drawings, generate cost estimates for various project phases and contribute to maintaining a commercial approach to project estimating within a dynamic project environment.
In the next 12 months, you will focus on producing accurate cost estimates, pricing schedules within tender documentation and analysing tenderer’s pricing responses, assist Project Managers with the assessment of project cost variations, updating and maintaining the accuracy of estimating library modules for the Estimating system and producing summary comparison reports between industry estimating benchmarks and current ElectraNet project estimates, among other things.
About You
Here's what we're looking for in our new team member:

Approximately 5-7 years of relevant estimating experience utilising a database driven estimating software.

Demonstrated experience in project cost estimating within the electricity, utilities or construction industries will be an added advantage.

Data savvy, proactive and diligent, with strong communication skills and a commercial mindset.

Familiar with updating and maintaining the accuracy of estimating library modules with actual data from current projects.

Demonstrated ability to apply sound project management methodology to manage own work schedule / projects.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and foster positive working relationships and culture with internal and external stakeholders.
