The Opportunity
We are looking for Automation Engineers and Experienced Automation Engineers join the team in permanent full-time positions based in Adelaide, South Australia.
Automation Engineers are responsible for the development and delivery of Automation System design work across a broad range of projects including connections of generators (renewables and conventional), battery energy storage systems, major loads as well as replacement of existing infrastructure to ensure the network remains reliable.
You will also be responsible for:
- Preparing preliminary or detailed design, options analysis, involve in risk assessments, scope and specifications of Substation Automation Systems in High Voltage power transmission projects.
- Perform engineering design review and validation including commissioning witnessing of Substation Automation Systems.
- Support development and maintenance of Substation Automation System standards including equipment evaluation
- Support co-ordination of engineering project deliverables with stakeholders
About You
Here’s what we’re looking for in our new team members:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with approximately 2 to 7 years of experience in Substation Automation System in High Voltage power transmission projects.
- Knowledge and experience of Substation SCADA Automation Systems and Architecture.
- Knowledge of DNP3 and IEC 61850 substation network communication standards.
- Knowledge of SCADA/Substation Automation System design, construction and commissioning.
- Basic knowledge of Protection Design and Substation Infrastructure Engineering.
- Possess understanding of substation metering, circuitry design, voltage regulation, auto-reclose and synchronising schemes.
- Understanding of legislated industry requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Flexible and collaborative approach.
- Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia.
