The Opportunity

As the Construction Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful on-site execution and management of high-voltage infrastructure projects. Acting as the primary on-site representative, you’ll oversee contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure all construction activities are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards—while remaining fully compliant with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineering Managers, providing real-time updates, influencing project outcomes, and resolving site-related challenges swiftly and effectively. Collaboration with Environmental Supervisors, Health and Safety Advisors, and Cultural Heritage Specialists will also be key to ensuring contractor performance aligns with ElectraNet’s expectations and industry standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires the ability to independently manage complex and dynamic field operations. You’ll be expected to exercise sound professional judgment, proactively address issues, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all site activities.

About You

Here's what we're looking for in a successful candidate:

  • Extensive experience supervising construction of general and/or high-voltage work packages.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction Management, or those who hold an Electrical license to bring significant industry experience - your expertise will be highly valued in this role.
  • A flexible and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and take initiative across a variety of tasks, all while maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Confident and clear communicator with a talent for building rapport, navigating complex conversations, and resolving challenges through thoughtful negotiation and collaboration.
  • Possess a proactive safety-first mindset, with the ability to identify risks, take preventative action, and lead by example to ensure the wellbeing of all personnel on site.
  • Experience working in remote locations is highly regarded.
  • White Card training is essential for this role, as it demonstrates a foundational understanding of construction site safety.
