The Opportunity

Our successful candidate will work with the GIS team to autonomously contribute to the delivery of enterprise spatial services assisting the growth of the organisation and development of South Australia’s transmission network in the transition to renewable energy.
 
In this role you will:

  • Support complex GIS and spatial data tasks, manage spatial data requirements, and ensure consistency with processes and practices used across the organisation.
  • Generate and implement new ideas and solutions that continually enhance business spatial capability and organisational capability to meet internal stakeholder and customer needs, ensuring its capabilities result in resilient performance.

 

Success in this role is characterised by strong spatial technical expertise, data management, spatial systems development, effective communication, with the ability to build relationships across broad stakeholder groups to drive complex resolutions effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum of 3 plus years of experience in GIS and spatial sciences, data creation/ management, data analysis and modelling.
  • Experience operating in an enterprise environment with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Collector and ArcGIS Explorer.
  • Demonstrable experience building and managing geospatial mobile field applications.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver on agreed timelines.
  • Well-developed analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrable advanced written and verbal communication skills & good interpersonal skills.

 

Although not essential, the following would be highly regarded:

  • Tertiary qualifications in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relational and spatial database management systems including experience working in and managing Enterprise Geodatabases and automation of data workflows.
  • Experience with data automation and programming across ArcGIS Arcade, JavaScript and Python.
  • Knowledge of CAD software applications and CAD data management.
  • Knowledge of legislated industry requirements (National Electricity Rules, ESCOSA, OTR, AEMO Guidelines, SOCI Act).
  • Electricity Industry background.
