The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager to join our Regulated Portfolio team. This senior role is responsible for leading the delivery of multiple large-scale projects in parallel, ensuring successful outcomes across cost, schedule, risk, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

 

You will play a key role in shaping delivery strategies, mentoring project teams, overseeing portfolios and driving innovation and continuous improvement. Projects are typically delivered via design and construct contracts or direct subcontractor engagement, requiring strong leadership and technical expertise. This role also contributes to strategic planning, capability development, and operational excellence across the Regulated Portfolio, supporting ElectraNet’s clean energy future.

 

Success in this role is characterised by impactful and influential leadership to ensure strong engagement and culture across the function, effective collaboration across the business and successful delivery of functional activities to support the achievement of ElectraNet’s business goals and objectives.

About You

Here’s what we’re looking for in our next Lead Project Manager:

  • Approximately 10 plus years’ experience in project management, ideally in energy, utilities, infrastructure or construction.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and foster positive working relationships and culture with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Industry experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure and construction would be highly desirable.
  • Advanced application and understanding of project management methodologies (PMBOK, WBS, EVM, etc.)
  • Proven success managing complex projects including environmental approvals, land procurement, cultural heritage and sustainability.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Sound time management and coordination skills, including problem-solving skills while working under tight deadlines and acting decisively to make informed decisions.
  • Expertise in risk management and contracting strategies (EPC, design, construction, commissioning).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Eligible for membership with the Australian Institute of Project Management.
  • Tertiary qualification in the relevant field/ discipline.
