The Opportunity
This is your chance to take ownership of ElectraNet’s tax and treasury operations and make a real impact. You’ll be the go to expert for all corporate tax matters, ensure treasury transactions and payments run flawlessly, and deliver sharp, data driven insights on cash flow, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax legislation.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will lead one direct report, making strong leadership skills and the ability to foster a positive, high-performing team culture essential for success in this role.
With a lean structure and plenty of autonomy, you’ll dive deep into complex problems, refine forecasting models, and strengthen the systems and processes that keep our financial environment robust and future ready. If you enjoy hands on technical work and want your expertise to truly influence decision making—this role gives you that platform.
If you thrive in environments where technical excellence, independence and high accountability come together—this is an outstanding opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
About You
Here’s what we’re looking for in our new manager:
- Strong technical grounding across financial accounting, tax compliance and treasury processes, with a natural focus on accuracy and details.
Approximately 7–10 years’ experience in financial accounting and tax roles, ideally within complex or regulated environments; a blend of Big 4 and commercial experience is highly advantageous. - Advanced modelling, forecasting and data‑analysis skills, with the ability to anticipate risks and identify opportunities.
- Comfortable navigating complexity—interpreting legislation, applying accounting standards and delivering clear, well‑supported advice to a wide stakeholder group.
- Proven experience in leading, developing and coaching teams, fostering growth and high performance in direct reports and colleagues.
- Confident engaging with internal teams, external advisors, auditors and the ATO on detailed technical matters.
- Demonstrates exceptional self‑leadership: organised, proactive, adaptable and confident managing competing deadlines.
- Operates effectively in a lean structure, relying on technical discipline, strong analytical thinking and practical problem‑solving rather than a large team.
- Is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/CPA) with tertiary education in Accounting, Finance or Tax.
