The Opportunity
Are you an experienced high-voltage operator with a passion for safe and efficient network switching? ElectraNet is seeking a skilled Network Switching and Outage Coordinator to join our dynamic team based in Adelaide, South Australia.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the coordination of planned transmission outages and associated switching programs.
- Conduct preliminary security assessments and ensure accurate outage scheduling with AEMO and internal systems.
- Prepare, check, and process switching programs in line with ElectraNet’s Switching Manual and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and specialist advice to the Network Switching Writer, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with SA Power Networks, AEMO, and project teams to ensure safe and timely switching operations.
- Contribute to outage planning performance and compliance with regulatory network targets.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in operational environments and is ready to apply their switching expertise to complex transmission systems.
About You
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- At least 5 years’ experience in high-voltage electricity operations, ideally within transmission networks.
- Electrical trade qualifications and/or an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Deep understanding of transmission network equipment, switching protocols, and outage coordination.
- Strong analytical and risk management skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve switching-related issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Experience working with switching systems such as SWOBS, AEMO NOS, and Energy Management Systems (desirable)
- ElectraNet HV switching licence or equivalent (desirable).
