The Opportunity
Are you passionate about shaping the future of Australia’s electricity transmission network? ElectraNet is seeking a forward-thinking Power System Engineers to join our Network division based in Adelaide, South Australia.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to long-term planning and performance of the transmission network.
- Evaluate customer connection proposals and negotiate performance standards.
- Develop and maintain power system models to support secure and operable system performance.
- Support system capability and security analysis, operational planning, and equipment rating assessments.
- Support preparation of planning reports including inputs for the Transmission Annual Planning Report.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders such as AEMO, SAPN, and ESCOSA.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys applying engineering principles to real-world challenges, thrives on innovation, and is committed to delivering resilient network performance.
About You
The successful applicant will be/have:
- 3-5 years experience in discipline related role and demonstrable capability.
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (essential).
- Eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia (essential).
- Strong understanding of transmission system reliability, substation components, and operational performance.
- Experience with power system modelling tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and PLEXOS.
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to undertake programming using Python or similar (desirable).
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety-first practices.
