The Opportunity

As a Procurement & Contracts Officer within ElectraNet’s Assets Division, you’ll play a key role in helping deliver high quality commercial outcomes across a diverse maintenance and operational portfolio. Working closely with experienced team members, you’ll support the end to end development, tendering and administration of contracts—including construction, maintenance, plant, telecommunications and OT agreements.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and working collaboratively to deliver value. You’ll contribute to acquisition planning, contract negotiation, risk management, procurement governance and supplier engagement, while helping to optimise commercial performance across the business.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the delivery of supply arrangements across maintenance and construction activities, including tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation and contract execution.
  • Assist with contract administration—variations, extensions, delays, defects, notices and documentation.
  • Provide practical commercial advice to internal customers on contract terms, compliance and governance.
  • Help identify and manage contract risks, support internal and external commercial meetings and maintain accurate contract records.
  • Support procurement governance through acquisition strategies, purchase recommendations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with Legal, Project and Engineering teams to shape contracting approaches and deliver strong commercial outcomes.

If you enjoy working in a fast paced environment, value meaningful stakeholder engagement and are motivated by delivering commercial results—this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your procurement and contracting career.

About You

You’re an organised, solutions focused professional who enjoys working with contracts, stakeholders and commercial challenges. You bring a practical mindset, strong communication skills and the confidence to support procurement and contracting activities in a structured, methodical way.

You will also bring:

  • Knowledge of category management principles, contract law and procurement strategies, including commercial risk and reward.
  • Experience in goods and services contracting, particularly across construction, operations or maintenance environments.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and issue resolution skills.
  • Well developed analytical and problem solving capability, with the ability to work across multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to produce high quality commercial and technical reporting.
  • General knowledge of SAP procurement functions and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (Commerce/Business, Engineering, Construction/QS or similar) is desirable, along with MCIPS membership.

Whether you’re early in your procurement career or looking to step into a broader commercial role, this position provides an excellent platform to build capability and influence meaningful outcomes.
