The Opportunity

As our Senior Advisor – Regulation, you will play a pivotal role in planning and reporting within the economic regulatory regime that governs our operations. You'll proactively engage with internal teams and Australian regulatory bodies, identifying both opportunities and potential challenges that could impact ElectraNet's strategic vision and ensuring new regulatory changes are seamlessly integrated into our business processes.
 

You will contribute significantly to our success by:

  • Taking ownership and driving outcomes, making independent decisions within established frameworks to achieve optimal results.
  • Building strong relationships with external stakeholders, effectively engaging with consumers and supporting ElectraNet's regulatory positioning.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance ElectraNet’s position through the regulatory framework, to ensure we are funded to manage the growing risks across the network.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments from the AER, AEMC, and other bodies, providing crucial updates and incorporating learnings into our strategic decision-making.
  • Playing a key role in revenue regulation matters, including our Revenue Proposal and supporting documentation.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Economics, Business, Finance, or related field, plus relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, rules, and codes (NEL, NER, ESCOSA, AER guidelines).
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant economic regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong foundation in applying theoretical and practical knowledge to solve complex problems.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks accurately with limited supervision.
  • Advanced analytical, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong modelling skills and experience with complex Excel models.
  • Well-developed report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in the Electricity Industry is desirable.
