The Opportunity

ElectraNet is seeking a highly motivated Senior Lines Engineer with focus on civil and structural aspects of transmission line and cable systems. You will also interface with other technical disciplines like substation and telecommunication. You'll provide strategic technical leadership, driving best practice in design, construction, and operation while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

In this role you’ll:

  • Lead technical solutions for transmission lines (standards & ElectraNet compliance)
  • Provide expert advice on civil/structural/line design throughout projects
  • Champion new technologies & processes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders & communicate complex technical information
  • Manage document quality & participate in risk assessments
  • Develop & maintain design standards & guidelines

About You

To be successful you’ll have:

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Civil or Structural) with at least 7 years' experience in power transmission
  • Knowledge and experience of high-voltage transmission systems and design
  • Expert knowledge of specifications, installation, testing methods of overhead line materials (e.g. conductor, OHEW, OPGW and hardware) and/or underground HV cable
  • Expertise in designing power transmission structures and infrastructure
  • Proficiency in power line/cable design software and strong communication skills
  • A strong commitment to safety and problem-solving
