The Opportunity

Join our team as a Senior Network Planning Engineer, where you'll shape the future of our network in a zero-carbon economy. In this role you’ll provide expertise around economic drivers, regulatory frameworks and rule changes that impact engineering network planning decisions. This role requires someone who can interpret engineering needs of power system planning and network performance with the foresight to understand what the broader community wants. You'll drive innovation, manage stakeholder pressures, and deliver cost-effective solutions while ensuring resilient network capabilities.

You will contribute to our future success by:

  • Leading long-term network planning, including market benefits analysis and scenario planning.
  • Develop and maintain economic models, conducting advanced system analysis.
  • Provide expert technical advice and mentorship, supporting team development.

About You

The successful candidate will be/have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Law, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, Mathematics, or related field plus relevant experience.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in developing and interpreting models.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience within the power, energy and utilities industries providing economic, financial, regulatory or engineering planning advice (desirable).
  • Sound understanding of National Electricity Rules, ESCOSA, and AEMO Guidelines (desirable).
  • Ability to interpret engineering concepts relating to power system planning and network performance (desirable)
