The Opportunity
As a Senior Project Estimator within the Commercial, Contracts and Cost Intelligence team, you’ll be part of a high performing team that leads the cost estimating process for ElectraNet’s capital works program. You will help with the development of tender documentation, analyse pricing responses and drawings, generate cost estimates and contribute to maintaining a commercial approach to project estimating within a dynamic project environment.

In this role, you will:
- Lead the preparation of high quality cost estimates across the Planning, Optioneering, Definition & Execution phase.
- Analyse drawings, tender responses and benchmarking data to develop robust, data driven estimates.
- Partner closely with our Procurement team to develop pricing schedules and evaluate tender submissions.
- Produce detailed Project Estimate Reports and variance analysis for Project Managers.
- Maintain and enhance the MTWO estimating system, including libraries, KPIs and benchmarking modules.
- Support continual improvement through innovation, systems optimisation, and best-practice methodology.
- Provide guidance and technical support to colleagues across Delivery and the broader business

About You
You’re a proactive, analytical and commercially minded estimator who enjoys working collaboratively and tackling complex challenges. You might come from electricity transmission, construction, project management, cost control, contracts, or a related field—what matters is your estimating capability, curiosity and passion for accuracy.
You bring:
- Essentially a minimum of 7-8 years’ experience in estimating with tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying and/ or any related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets.
- Demonstrated experience preparing project cost estimates using database driven estimating software.
- Experience in tender assessment, BoQ take offs, variance analysis and benchmarking.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and high quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across teams
- Utilities, energy and infrastructure industry experience will be highly advantageous, but not essential.
