The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role within the Finance division, where you will combine accounting expertise with systems thinking to ensure the integrity, optimisation and ongoing evolution of ElectraNet’s financial systems. You will play a key part in enabling accurate financial reporting, supporting business decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across SAP and related platforms. Working cross-functionally, you’ll engage with stakeholders across Finance and Technology to translate business needs into effective system solutions, while contributing to a data-driven, insight-led finance function.
- Lead the ongoing optimisation and support of SAP financial systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance and strong financial control across the organisation.
- Design and enhance financial reporting and analytics solutions that deliver meaningful insights and support business decision-making.
- Maintain and improve data integrity, master data and system processes to enable reliable reporting and operational efficiency.
- Partner with Finance, Technology and key stakeholders to identify improvements, implement system enhancements and resolve complex issues.
- Support and optimise the Cost Allocation Model (CAM), including monthly operation, analysis and continuous improvement.
About You
You bring a strong blend of accounting expertise and systems capability, with the ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful insights that support business decision-making. You are detail-oriented yet commercially minded, with a natural curiosity to improve systems, processes and reporting outcomes. Comfortable working across Finance and Technology, you build strong relationships, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment where continuous improvement is valued.
- Proven expertise in SAP financial systems (particularly S/4HANA) and broader financial system architecture, with the ability to support, configure and enhance system performance.
- Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel and reporting skills, enabling you to interpret large data sets and deliver clear, actionable insights.
- A solid grounding in accounting principles, financial reporting and compliance, with the ability to apply this knowledge within complex systems environments.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Finance, Technology and business stakeholders, translating technical concepts into practical, user-friendly solutions.
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset with experience identifying system and process enhancements, supporting change initiatives and solving complex problems.
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA (or equivalent postgraduate qualification).
- Additional experience or background in SAP-related roles and finance environments.
Desirable
- Understanding of financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
- Experience within a regulated utilities or similar complex industry environment.
